这部电影讲述了一个住在魁北克省夏洛瓦地区的处于事业上升期的建筑师卢克（埃里克•布吕诺）的故事。他娶了一个漂亮的体育教练，他有一群好朋友，参加许多体育活动（打猎、钓鱼、滑雪、曲棍球、高尔夫球）。似乎没有什么可以干扰到他幸福的生活了。由于一次在多伦多出差的经历，他和一位女子有了外遇，两人在魁北克城又见了一次。而他的妻子精神状态也并不好。。An oil company is drilling in a small town and suddenly they face volcanic eruption. This seems a small event at first sight but soon it becomes clear that it is the start of a long chain of eruptions. In the movie we see people rushing to save their lives and gradually it becomes a global phenomena that has ability to enfulf the whole globe。丹和他怀孕的妻子在山路上开车，却被坏人劫持。被坏人用枪指着头，夫妻俩与亡命徒斗智斗勇。。
