李子勇Thomas（林保怡／陈健朗饰）出生贫穷，年轻时为赚取母亲（张慧仪饰）的医药费，拼命打工赚钱，认识了同在茶餐厅打工的少女方小薇Sammy（周家怡／谈善言饰），自此变成好朋友。茶餐厅老板（秦沛／艾威饰）分配Thomas到比利时进行走私名表的生意，因一个重大的错误在比利时留了二十年，并结识了出生入死的红颜知己Judy（李思函饰）。四年前，Thomas返回香港跟Sammy一起开办餐厅，并重遇在比利时结识，何乐儿Joyce（卫诗雅／杨偲泳饰），二人一拍即合，很快便走在一起。Thomas及后发现Joyce与一名为胡启源（陈奂仁／黄定谦饰）亦已拍拖八年，并与一名人妻梁淑媛Catherine（伍咏薇饰）育成子（岑珈其饰）。六人关系扑朔迷离。命运让他们的人生交错，相遇，相识，相处，相分到重遇，纠缠一辈子的爱恨，换来一声叹息。。When a casino owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven basically by default since all dogs go to heaven. However, since he wants to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing that damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy to prep his retaliation.
