The story begins with a brief prologue set in the 13th Century, in which a calligrapher is completing a copy of the Koran and his assistant is sent out for ink so he can complete the project before an invading Mongol army attacks....。《红麦》由中共丽江市委宣传部、中共玉龙县委宣传部、中共古城区委宣传部联合摄制，张春和、王洋执导，赵晓明、韩月乔、康磊、阳知、徐箭、宋楚炎等参演的红色题材影片。 该片讲述中国工农红军红二、六军团过丽江那段刻骨铭心的光辉岁月。。小职员徐志荣被公司解雇，顿感彷徨，为了要找钱替妻子周小娟治病，便想出妙计分别向财务公司、银行贷款，以数抵数，希望挨三数个月找到了工作便把债务清还，暂渡难关。故只好从深圳搬回香港居住，因借贷时有香港地址比较方便，更要求好友李志超作担保人，但可惜李志超因公司裁员亦遭解雇，志超要养母亲，一双难兄难弟互吐苦水，想办法找工作，但香港近年经济低迷，人浮于事，故无法找到合适的工作，荣经苦思，想到一条绝世妙计，决定以上班心态赴澳门赌博，除费用每天嬴五百元便收手，超在犹豫中，终经不起荣的游说，在走投无路之下，只好把心一横与荣齐过澳门碰运气……。
