The group was viciously set upon by villagers who had been manipulated by a local right-wing priest ...。20世纪60年代初，东北某省会城市，生活着几名无忧无虑却又为饥饿所折磨的少年，王小嵩、刘振兴、韩德宝、徐克调皮捣蛋，同进同退，每日惹出是非不断。高干家庭出身的张萌不满他们的举止，经常打小报告，文静贤淑的郝梅则默默地站在一旁，看少年们匆匆跑过灰色的童年时代。在此之后，各种运动此起彼伏，从不停歇，少年们在口号声中成长起来，他们响应领导人的号召上山下乡、返城，经历这改革开放的沧桑巨变。昔日的好友相聚离开，朝着不同的道路前进，品味着人生百味。在时代的大背景下，个体如此渺小，却迸发出别样的光彩…… 本片根据作家梁晓声的同名原著改编。。
