查士雄两次救助孙明甫兄妹，与孙遂结为兄弟。孙的表妹兰珠被报国寺的恶僧劫持，查、孙误以为是红崖山上的强盗所为，于是前往红崖上设法解救兰。巧的是盗首乃一妙龄女子赵窈娘，后经相认得知，女子的母亲与查母是亲姐妹。查告知来此的目的，窈娘决定与查、孙同往报国寺救出兰。经过多个回合的较量，三人终于安然无恙地将兰救出。明甫与兰珠患难中见真情，结为夫妇；世雄则与窈娘继续行侠仗义。。Saturday Night Live aired its eighth season during the 1982–1983 season on NBC.
