In part 2 while the diplomats wra...。民国时期战乱的东北，少女赵宁静（周迅）与远房已有婚约在身的表哥林爽然（张信哲）互生真情，即使知晓情路艰难，两人仍时常于沈阳与抚顺两地奔波，求的仅是多看对方一眼。无奈造化弄人，在两人的过分小心翼翼和他人的恶意破坏下，这段感情以无言悲剧收场。赵宁静伤心之余，任性下嫁她并不爱的富家子熊应生（邱心志），而此人为防患于未然，恶意陷害林爽然迫使对方失意离开家乡，自此赵宁静与林爽生变作两条并行线。 二十多年之后，战乱结束，林爽然与赵宁静在香港意外重逢，只是物非人也非，两人虽想带着补偿的心理重新结合，却早失去了曾经的热情。。1963年，在冷战太空竞赛中，美国政府秘密发射了升天号（Ascension）太空飞船，携带着一百名男女老少，完成一项世纪航行：寻找新世界，保存人类生命火种。这段旅程期初一切顺利，但很快就陷入了巨大的危机之……。
