1976到1992年，曼彻斯特，一个关于摇滚乐、性和药物的故事。汤尼威尔森和朋友创立著名唱片品牌：Factory，旗下有多个知名乐团，例如Joy Division、Happy Monday，以及在Joy Dividion主唱Ian Curtis自杀后，其余成员组成的New Order。全片以DV拍摄，经由汤尼威尔森的故事探索Factory兴衰历程，重现曼彻斯特当年光辉的音乐风潮。同时也从威尔森的观点，来看Ian Curtis自杀事件。。苏韵锦多年前离开儿子前往湘港创业，二十年后已经成为首富。可因多年疏于亲情，儿子拒绝和苏韵锦相认。因此苏韵锦选择躺在棺材里给自己举办一场葬礼，以此让儿子来和自己见面，并且将首富资产交给儿子，但不知苏韵锦身份的儿子陆鸣，带着儿媳妇孙琳来到葬礼。。MOTHER TONGUE (母语) is a portrait of a Chinese American family in which the consequences of a mother’s decision to leave her young daughter in the care of a white American “homestay” family are slowly unearthed over the course of a family dinner.
