Desperate to avoid facing his own traumatic reality, the man must venture outside to find a replacement, into a city where violence and danger lurk beneath a skim of beautiful illusion.。喜庆的音乐里，严家的老夫妻二人正在为过中秋节抢购月饼，大儿子严志国在广州正准备带妻子李芸，女儿和儿子回山东老家过节。因为公务，严志国没能赶回家里过节。严母为不能聚齐的家人，而情绪低落。此时恰巧得知好姐妹蔡婆婆患肾病，没多久就辞世的消息。自己也感到身体不适，被老朋友鲁大夫劝说到市医院检查身体……。民航飞行员滕菲（曾永醍饰）是同僚中的佼佼者，她有良好的飞行天赋，但因飞行安全问题常与上司方堃（谭凯饰）发生不愉快。方堃是航空公司副总，妻子在一次空难中牺牲，他独带儿子石头（冯邵一饰）生活，年近四十的他有上万小时的飞行经验，飞行中的安全操作，在他认为是航空公司的重中之重，容不得一点马虎。滕菲因工作中失误被调到机务组，她与男机务罗匡（张博饰）一见倾心。乘务长舒琳（李泰兰饰）美丽善良，由于年逾而立，婚姻问题摆上了议事日程，家中的父母也对此很操心，但她心中早有了目标。方堃自妻子牺牲后好长时间不能从悲痛中自拔，在见到舒琳后，他仿佛从她身上看到了妻子的影子......。
