On his first official outing, his poor shooting skills results in the Hellcats losing an air comba...。故事从发生在红光商场的一场大火和保险公司调查科科长余炳其的意外车祸身亡开始。表面上似乎没什么关联的两件案子在经刑侦大队的眼里却有着某种必然的联系，为了把案件查个水落石出，经侦大队派出了以张平、王烨和肖山为首的调查小组，他们各个精明强干，几个人分工协作，没几天的工夫，经过多方取证，案件就有了突破性的进展。 据调查，多年前红光商场曾向银行贷了一笔巨款，但商场经理田龙总以商场负债经营为理由拒绝偿还贷款。这场不明来由的大火不但烧毁了商场所有的财务资料，还烧死了当事人田龙。保险公司认为其中另有隐情，拒绝全额赔偿，遂派余炳其前往查明真相，没想到他却因此而丢了性命……。
