香港的屋邨区贫穷落后，屋邨的大人们都忙于生计而无暇管教自己的小孩。屋邨的小孩子整天无所事事，拉帮结派。这里，成了黑社会滋生的温床。山鸡（陈小春 饰）正是成长于这样的环境中，他整天和包皮（林晓峰 饰）、巢皮（朱永棠 饰）、大天二（谢天华 饰）混在一起，渐渐长大，成了香港制造的典型古惑仔。 山鸡从小就喜欢邻家青梅竹马的小女孩芝芝（梁咏琪 饰），但芝芝不喜欢和古惑仔来往，渐渐疏远了山鸡。山鸡一次偶然机会发现芝芝出来当舞女，原来芝芝母亲病重，急于用钱无奈之下芝芝才出来当舞女。山鸡帮助了芝芝，芝芝母亲觉得山鸡为人不错，临终将芝芝托付给了芝芝。 山鸡决定送芝芝回澳门定居，但此时横生枝节，两人最终能否终成眷属？。Follows Anita's self-discovery and maturity journey.
