荣敬梓老人突然收到一个来自日本的邮包，是一个精美的木盒。打开木盒，里面是一竿六十多年前的凤凰箫。寄邮包的日本老太太林田秀子去世前交代孙女把这竿凤凰箫寄还给荣敬梓老人。荣敬梓老人当即拿着凤凰箫打车出门。开出租车的司机碎嘴唠叨，搅得荣敬梓老人心烦意乱，干脆下车另换一辆出租车，这一下车，便把那竿凤凰箫忘记在了前一辆车上。丢了凤凰箫的荣敬梓老人失魂落魄，满大街拦住出租车寻找，逐个出租车公司打问，凤凰箫重无下落。遗失的那竿凤凰箫记录着少年时代荣敬梓和日本女孩林田秀子的几乎全部恩怨……。Set in 1978, the film marks the fourth joint effort between Monzón and Jorge Guerricaechevarría, and tells the action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled story of 17-year-old Nacho Cañas, an introverted student who lives in Girona and who is something of a misfit.
