少年阿盛于机缘巧合下学厨于荣叔，因得罪香港西餐主厨被迫北上。在北京丽城酒店，阿盛尽显其才。然而在一次职场变故后，阿盛意识到自己真正追求的是一个厨师的本职。于是他重整旗鼓，开始了自己的餐饮事业。。Restoration carried out by the National Museum of Singapore and the World Cinema Foundation. In association with the Konfiden Foundation and Kineforum Jakarta Arts Council. The film was restored from the original print kept at the Indonesian Cinematheque.
